Animal Care Hospital Staff

April

April Lanciki - Manager

April has worked in veterinary administration for many years. She started her career at an emergency vet hospital in the Washington, DC area. She moved to western North Carolina in 2020 and joined the Apple Valley Animal Hospital family. Her favorite thing about working at both Apple Valley and Animal Care is the connection she makes with her colleagues, clients, and of course, the patients!

In her free time, April loves to travel, hike, and camp with her family.  She enjoys cooking, reading, drawing, and crafting.  She shares her home with her husband, two kids, a cat named Lord Dinkles, and a rat named Doja Rat.

Samantha

Samantha Long - Veterinary Receptionist

Samantha joined the team in June of 2024 as a veterinary receptionist.  She is currently working on her certification as a veterinary assistant through Penn Foster.  Working with animals has been a lifelong dream for her.

Samantha has one teenager, a cat, and two dogs at home.  In her free time, she likes to travel with her family, ride her motorcycle, and play her bagpipes.

Klairice

Klairice Milanese - Veterinary Receptionist

Klairice began her veterinary career in 2020 as a receptionist and has since expanded her skills through cross-training.  She is now proficient in assisting with appointments, basic animal handling, and client education.  Klairice is passionate about meeting all the wonderful animals that come through our doors and helping their owners understand how to best care for their pets, both physically and mentally.  She especially enjoys helping pet owners with ways to reduce pet anxiety.

In her free time, Klairice enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with her fiancé, Antonio.  She shares her home with Antonio, two cats named Taz and Momma, and Archer, her boxer mix.

Anna

Anna Pope - Veterinary Assistant

Anna has always been reassured by the fact that animals can cheer you up, even on your worst days. As a result, she naturally wanted to make them feel better in exchange.

Anna has been employed since 2018 as a veterinary assistant and joined the team at Animal Care Hospital in the fall of 2019.  As a veterinary assistant, she is determined to give each and every animal that enters our doors the best care possible. She is also Fear Free Certified.

Anna has 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a horse too! In her free time, she rides her horse, gardens, binge watches true crime, and loves to read a good book.
